Matthew Gamble to Speak for September Series
We are so pleased to announce that we have booked international speaker Matthew Gamble for one power-packed week at The Lighthouse—September 17-25.
Be sure to reserve that week. Pastor Gamble, a Seventh-day Adventist minister, has a passion for telling the story of Jesus. He is a gifted communicator, and connects well with young adults.
Matthew was born and raised Catholic, but became an atheist at the age of 14. Having become fascinated by the Rastafarian religion Matthew found himself, at the age of 19, on the island of Jamaica.
He soon began smuggling marijuana into Miami, Florida. It was shortly after this time that God lead him to a Christian pastor who, after hearing his story, handed him a Bible. As he began exploring the teachings of Jesus, his life began to be transformed from inside out.
He now holds a Doctorate in Ministry with an emphasis in Transformational Leadership, specifically looking at trends of effective communicators of the Gospel in a postmodern culture.
Pastor Gamble is presently serving full time with VagaBondservant International, a non-profit ministry that has taken him all over the world speaking about the life and teachings of Jesus. Additionally he is a Senior Consultant with both the Center for Secular and Postmodern Studies out of the Global Missions office of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and the Center for Creative Ministry. He also serves on the North American Division Young Adult Advisory, and on the Adventist Christian Fellowship board.
Matthew has a passion for preaching God's Word. He has been privileged to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in:
Canada, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Uganda, Haiti, China, Costa Rica, Bermuda, Australia, Hungary, Finland, Columbia, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and all over the United States.
Matthew has served as a volunteer Community Chaplain with the Seattle Police Department, and spent two years volunteering as a teacher at the Union Gospel Mission of Seattle.
Matthew's passions include his wife, international travel, people, and studying trends in secularism and postmodernism. He is ecstatically married to the former Susan Mentges, his college sweet heart. She is currently in internal medicine residency at Yale University in New Haven, CT. They live together with their adopted dog, the world’s first Jamaican Shepherd.
When Matthew comes to the Lighthouse in September he’ll be presenting a series of messages simply entitled JESUS. This series starts in Genesis and runs through the entire Bible. Matthew covers it all—Genesis to Revelation—in just 9 nights. The focus of all his messages is Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
